C'est un single absolument phénoménal sorti en 1970 avec  en face B "Who Has Seen the Wind?" de Yoko Ono titre produit par Lennon; Instant karma ! est quant a lui produit par le génial Phil Spector alors très proche du couple Lennon -Yoko Ono George Harrison resté assez lié a Lennon joue de la guitare sur ce titre.

cette chanson ou explose le talent musical et la creativité de l'ex Beatles est sortie uniquement en 'single ' et ne sera presente sur aucun album de lennon (sauf 'live' ou compilations)
